About Me – Born in 1981 Robert Neil Kershaw. I have grown up and lived at various points across the Wirral and although being an avid traveler, this little peninsula holds a special place in my heart.
During the eighties my Dad and godfather always had a keen interest in film and photography, although not acknowledging it until my teen’s  I had a real fondness for both films and photography. This led me to college where I studied for a City & Guilds in Photography and an Advanced V.C.E. in Media Studies.
Enjoying my subjects so much and in no hurry to grow up and dive in to the real world I engaged in further study (and party) time gaining myself a Ba in Media, majoring in Photo Journalism from the University of Sheffield. Following this I then completed Open University courses in Adobe Photo Shop.
Amidst my study time I met a wonderful ‘lady’ I use the term loosely 😉 and a whirlwind 12 months later to the day I made Karen Scott, a Kershaw! Nine years on and the rose tinted glasses are still well and truly on.

Once it was time to get a real job again I avoided this by landing myself a position as assistant editor and photographer for a motorbike magazine ‘Motard’. As splendid a job as this was my good friend David Blair (Editor and owner of the magazine) passed away. Following this I pursued more journalistic type work  and have worked for the likes of the Daily Post, Daily Echo and MCN (Motor Cycle News).
Over the years people started referring friends to me asking if I would shoot their weddings. With my glamorous assistant (Karen) we embraced wedding photography with open arms and the looks on couples faces seeing their pictures for the first time is just priceless. I have such a good time attending and capturing couples big days that I decided to focus on my photography and here on my blog I still get to type the odd journalistic jibba jabba 🙂
